Not Your Ma’s Peanut Butter Chocolate Milkshake – Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey

You won’t get any Sundae Scaries if you treat yo’ self this weekend off with this boozy milkshake. Ok maybe none of that made any sense to you – but seriously, try this milkshake, you won’t be disappointed. This was my favorite concoction I’ve made so far and will definitely be making it again!
Growing up on the East Coast we always would hit the roadside ice cream stops for milkshakes. I can remember hot summer days shoving and pushing my sister to pile into Fancy Nancy’s (hi Ma!) Jetta, burning ourselves on the seatbelts in anticipation for a malted chocolate milkshake.
When I lived in Oregon, I fell in love with hiking. I would head out early on Saturday mornings to trek 2 hours outside of Portland to hike in the Columbia River Gorge, hands down one of my favorite places to hike on earth. I spent most summer days in those woods wandering around and working up one hell of an appetite. When I had a particularly strenuous hike I would make sure to stop at the Eastwind Drive-In in Cascade Locks for a peanut butter milkshake and a cheeseburger before the long drive back to the city.
Reese’s Peanut Butter cups have always been in the top 5 favorite candies in my household (there is rarely a time that our cabinet doesn’t have at least one stowaway bag), and this is my homage to them and those delightful post hike summer shakes. Not a chocolate lover? Leave out the hot fudge and add in a tablespoon or two of your favorite jam for a twist on a childhood classic.

Screwball – noun- An individual who strays away from the cliché things in life. One who is not afraid to break away from the crowd and be their own individual. Throughout history, a skrewball has not always fit in within culture. They do not abide to all of societies tight and rigid standards. These individuals have a craving to be different. They strive for independence and are heavily concerned with creating their own path. It’s an authentic road. One that makes them, them.
On one side, you have good ol’ whiskey – a bold, loud, and strong partner-in-crime who exudes confidence. On the other, we have peanut butter – a rich, smooth, and irresistible spread that’s as dependable as they come for all your late-night cravings. Little did you know they blend together quite phenomenally. In fact, they go together so well, they make PB&J jealous. It’s nearly impossible to just have one of this delicious treat. But we have to warn you – a night with Skrewball is bound to get a little nutty.

You can pick up your own bottle of Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey at Wooden Cork where we aim to preserve tradition by providing the unique taste of extensive and private collections of rare liquors. Located in the heart of San Diego, we pride ourselves in being able to ship a wide selection of your favorite alcohols at great prices. Please Drink Responsibly.
