Beam Suntory-owned Pinnacle vodka has released a 30% ABV range to meet consumer demand for low-calorie, sugar-free drinks.
The new zero-sugar Light & Ripe line debuts with two flavours: apricot honeysuckle and guava lime.
Made with ‘natural’ ingredients, the ‘fruit-forward’ variants contain fewer than 75 calories per 1.5oz (42ml) serving.
Pinnacle Apricot Honeysuckle offers ‘bright apricot elevated by honeysuckle undertones’, while Pinnacle Guava Lime provides ‘ripe tropical fruit and fresh lime zest’.
“Pinnacle Light & Ripe strikes the ideal balance between bold flavours and quality ingredients that can be enjoyed any day of the week,” said Ivan Hidalgo, senior marketing director of regional brands at Beam Suntory.
“We made it a priority to incorporate natural ingredients and exclude sugar to create the perfect vodka that allows vodka drinkers to have it all.”
The range is recommended served with a ‘simple’ mixer or mixed with soda.
The Pinnacle Light & Ripe line is available across the US and online through Drizly and Reserve Bar, priced at RRP US$10.99 per 750ml.
Pinnacle vodka has reported stagnant sales over the last five years, according to Brand Champions 2020 data. The brand reported a 1.6% decline to 2.5 million nine-litre cases in 2019.
The launch of Pinnacle Light & Ripe comes a month after Grey Goose released its 30% ABV Essences line.
Last summer, Constellation Brands-owned Svedka Vodka created a zero-sugar flavoured range.
In 2018, Diageo unveiled its 30% ABV Ketel One Botanicals range, and recently expanded the low-alcohol series with three canned ready-to-drink products in the US.
