The 2021 Vinexpo Paris trade fair has been postponed from February until June due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

Originally scheduled to take place from 15 to 17 February 2021 at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, the event will now be held from 14 to 16 June 2021. It will take place alongside Wine Paris.

Organisers of the event said the decision was made after consulting with industry representatives in France and internationally, and came about due to the ‘evolving health situation’.

It is hoped the later date will enable exhibitors and attendees to ‘maximise engagement with major industry players’.

Vinexpo Paris said preparations for the 2021 event were ‘well under way’, designed to help the drinks trade ‘bounce back’ following the impact of the pandemic.

Next year’s event will see the return of Be Spirits, a ‘show within the show’, which will be solely dedicated to the spirits and bar industries. Be Spirits was the first dedicated spirits area for Vinexpo.

The inaugural Vinexpo Paris took place in February 2020 and was celebrated as a “refreshing change” to other trade fairs.

Last week, Vinexpo New York cancelled its 2021 fair, which was due to be held in February.
